Happy Birthday to our Showroom

"

After 5 years in our West Hampstead showroom we feel visiting our showroom is a distinct experience. We welcome you with Italian coffee and invite you in to our working kitchen spaces to explore the finishes and exquisite details that we can bring to your home.We may look like a young showroom but we set up our first Scavolini showroom in 2008 in beautiful Workingham, Berkshire.

Though we can’t celebrate as we’d like with an tasty Italian food and perfectly chilled prosecco , we wanted to take a journey down memory lane with you to see just how far we have come in 5 years. So we have asked our founders Brani and Peter about their memories here in West Hampstead.

Why West Hampstead?

We always liked the Hampstead area in particular West Hampstead and the beautiful Hampstead Heath. We have done numerous projects in the area operating from our first showroom. We had to carefully select the area as the new showroom location had to accommodate not just a growing business but our own young family. West Hampstead was a perfect destination with a close and supportive local community.

How did you choose the space here for your showroom?

We shared our plans for relocation to a client in Hampstead and she told us about the empathy retail space at the corner of Fortune Green park. We immediately made an offer to the landlords and they loved our idea of a Italian kitchen showroom.

How many displays do you have in the showroom now?

We currently have 5 large kitchens (3 fully working), 4 bathrooms-more models coming in 2021, as well as living and walk in wardrobe compositions. However, Scavolini offer close to 40 different model kitchens, 13 bathroom models, laundry system, walk in wardrobes and endless composition for the overall living space that completely fill the imagination.

Scavolini started producing kitchens in 1961 with bathroom range in 2008 and the collections are still expanding. The living room ranges arrived in 2014 with laundry, wardrobes followed quickly after.

What are your 5 favourite features of the showroom?

We love the open feel in the showroom; the natural light shines through and changes through out the day, which is always welcoming. However our most favourite is the lighting system ,designed by the architects in Italy ,which takes us on a path of discovery through the space. We also enjoy the greenery from the Fortune Green Park that we can see from our windows while having meetings, reminding us about the importance of the natural world.

What has been the biggest challenge about running a successful London showroom?

One of the biggest challenges is designers training due to the extensive and unique ranges of product that Scavolini offer, which we fortunately overcome by training in the factory, workshops and by online top up training. Our team is now our biggest asset filled with creativity and knowledge.

Talk us through a typical design consult you might have today?

So today the team was working on several projects: an amazing development project in collaboration with an award winning design studio, on a kosher kitchen in North Finchley with Delinea, a Carattere kitchen for an eclectic American client in Hampstead and in between- managing photoshoot of stunning Diesel kitchen in Notting Hill.

Where do you hope the showroom is in 5 years from now?

We are planning to expand to another location and to replicate the Scavolini flagship opportunity by creating another one-stop showroom for the whole house.
